2. Overview

SimProcedures is a checklist companion for flight simulator sessions. The app runs independently on your device and is not connected to the simulator. We place great importance on protecting your data.

In brief:

No user account required
No advertising, tracking or analytics tools
App data is stored locally. When iCloud is enabled, the content listed in section 4 is also synced to your private iCloud database.
Optional iCloud sync runs exclusively through Apple; there is no separate server

3. What data is stored locally?

SimProcedures stores the following locally on your device using SwiftData. When iCloud is enabled, the content listed in section 4 is also synced:

Your own aircraft and self-created checklists
Checklist progress, current phase, and checked items
Favorites, disabled phases, and the last used aircraft
App settings, for example onboarding status, content language, translation display, and collapsed sections

No data is transferred to developer-operated servers.

4. iCloud Sync (CloudKit)

If iCloud is enabled in the system, your own aircraft and checklists, checklist progress and current phase, favorites, disabled phases, and the last used aircraft are synchronised between devices using the same Apple Account via Apple iCloud. The data is stored in your private iCloud database. App settings remain local to each device.

There is no developer-operated server. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent through the iOS iCloud settings. Apple privacy information: apple.com/legal/privacy.

5. In-App Purchases (StoreKit)

Purchases, for example SimProcedures Pro or individual Premium aircraft, are processed entirely through Apple StoreKit. We do not receive payment data.

SimProcedures only stores the unlock status locally on the device. No separate server-side validation takes place with the developer. Apple processes transaction data in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.

6. Diagnostics (MetricKit)

Apple's MetricKit framework provides crash, hang and energy data to the app. This data is stored locally in the app container as JSON files for 30 days.

The data does not leave the device
It is not transmitted to the developer
It can only be viewed through Xcode → Devices & Simulators

Optionally, you can send anonymised diagnostics data directly to Apple through iOS system settings. This is independent of SimProcedures.

7. What data is NOT collected?

No user accounts or registration
No advertising IDs or tracking
No third-party analytics or crash-reporting services
No cookies
No device IDs, usage profiles or personal data sent to servers
No sharing with third parties, except Apple iCloud and StoreKit at your request

8. Data Storage and Deletion

All local data can be removed completely by uninstalling the app.

You can delete iCloud data through System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage → SimProcedures.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access stored data, Art. 15 GDPR
Rectification of incorrect data, Art. 16 GDPR
Erasure of your data, Art. 17 GDPR
Restriction of processing, Art. 18 GDPR
Withdraw consent, Art. 7(3) GDPR
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, Art. 77 GDPR

Because all data is stored locally on your device or in your private iCloud, you retain full control at all times.

10. SimProcedures as a Standalone Companion

SimProcedures is a standalone checklist companion and does not communicate with flight simulator software such as MSFS, X-Plane, Prepar3D or FlightGear. It does not connect to third-party servers used by those simulators.

11. Changes

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy when necessary, for example when new app features are introduced. The current version is always available at this URL.
